This Nontron pocket knife No. 50 is handmade by Coutellerie Nontronnaise in Nontron, in the Perigord, home of one of the oldest knife-making traditions in France. The clog-shaped handle is made from woodburned boxwood with traditional pyrographed motifs, finished with a brass turning ferrule. The turning ferrule rotates to lock the blade, the traditional Nontron locking system. The 10 cm blade is made from T12 steel, a resistant French cutlery steel that takes a fine edge. Delivered with gift packaging. This is the original, historical Nontron model that made the knife famous, carrying the heritage of Alphonse Chaperon.

Use and care

• Wipe the blade clean with a damp cloth or sponge and dry it immediately
• Never put it in the dishwasher and do not soak it in water
• Treat the woodburned boxwood with traditional pyrographed motifs handle occasionally with a drop of food-safe oil to keep it beautiful
• Apply a small drop of oil to the pivot from time to time for smooth opening
• Store it in a dry place
